KevReason formally of get_twizted has been with LIFE. from the beginning. His love of complete dance floor destroying tunes made him a resident from day one. Kev has moved more in to the techno/tech house scene over the years as he was finding that the electro that he used to love and mix was becoming too commercial. ‘Stuff I was buying was getting played on the radio, or a watered down version of it anyway. I was finding it harder and harder to find good underground style club electro, so I tried a bit of tech which I have always liked anyway and it worked. I also like some heavy mind altering techno that I try to slip in to the odd set. I still drop the odd electro favourite track though’. KevResaon started out mixing vinyl many years ago. ‘I started out buying early hedkandi stuff before it went the commercial route’. Kev also believes that to be a DJ you have to know how to scratch or at very least mix vinyl, ‘I can’t do either very well anymore! I moved to CD’s like most for convenience and price’. ‘I have so much respect for the DJ’s that still spin vinyl, one of my hero’s is Sven Vath who has kept it vinyl when almost all other big name DJ’s that started off vinyl now DJ with a laptop in front of them’. Kev has been Dj’ing for around 6 years (2 with LIFE.) in and around London. He has played at many clubs such as Ministry of sound, Pacha, Egg, Scala, Herbal, Aquarium, Plan B, Whitehouse to name a few. He was the founder of the promotion ‘get_twizted’ who had residence at Ministry, Herbal and Scala. ‘When I started out it was near on impossible to get gigs playing out in London, I had done a few clubs in Essex but I wanted to be playing the big clubs in London. So I started my own promotion called get_twizted. Our first gig at Herbal was massive and we got a residency out of it which see us there for two years. It was a great night and its how I met Seb Rumore’. Kev left get_twizted at the beginning of 2010 to concentrate on his residency at LIFE. ‘I loved get_twizted and the nights we did at Herbal, ministry and Scala, but it was time to move on and at LIFE. we are getting bigger and better every month, we are the only monthly residence at Inigo and We are currently working on another night that is a lot more back to clubbing basics’. You can catch Kev at Inigo every month where he will be playing one of his ‘am’ sets usually 12-1 to get the crowd up on the tables.
